Senate Unanimously Passes CHRONIC Care Act

On September 26th, the Senate unanimously passed the S. 870, Creating High-Quality Results and Outcomes Necessary to Improve Chronic (CHRONIC) Care Act of 2017. According to an article by the United States Senate Committee on Finance, the Finance Committee over the past two years, has been developing the CHRONIC Care Act that will address and improve healthcare outcomes for Medicaid members with chronic conditions. The CHRONIC Care Act legislation will help improve disease management, lower Medicare costs and streamline care coordination services. Next steps for the legislation will be for the House to review and approve the legislation, then pass on to the President’s desk to be signed into law.
