This past December, Care Compass Network (CCN) held its annual PAC Stakeholders meeting at the Holiday Inn Binghamton. 2018 marked CCN’s 3rd consecutive year holding the event and its largest event to-date. The meeting included over 150 medical professionals, hospital systems, behavioral health organizations, community-based organizations, CCN board members, state and local legislators, and other key stakeholders.

New York State Fred Akshar kicked off the meeting with a presentation to stakeholders providing bipartisan state support for CCN and partners in our mission to transform the healthcare system in the Southern Tier.

Special guest speaker, Denard Cummings, Executive Director of the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Social Determinants of Health, followed with an informational presentation on ‘Social Determinants of Health’. The presentation provided insight as to what direction he sees the state moving, future standards, and what are the best practices for CBO’s getting into social determinants of health from a VBP perspective.

Mark Ropiecki, Executive Director of Care Compass Network recapped the event with a ‘year in review’, presenting milestones and goals achieved, and closing with future DSRIP plans for 2019.

Additional special guests at the event included; Kathy Connerton, President and CEO of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and Board Chair of CCN; Jack Salo, Executive Director of Rural Health Network of South Central New York; Walt Priest, President and CEO of Family Health Network, and Chris Whalen, Communications Coordinator for New York State Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo.
