Press Release: On November 13th, Groton Community Health Care Center invited Senator James Seward and Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton for the unveiling of their new Telehealth and TelePsych services.

The adoption of the Telehealth technology will enable Groton Health to better manager the care of their residents and work more efficiently, thus reducing hospital admissions and re-admissions. Highlighting the new advancement, Nasar Khan, President and CEO of Groton Health said “This this a huge milestone in the history of our organization. We have invested in two state-of-the-art Telehealth robots equipped with an otoscope, dermascope, and Bluetooth enabled stethoscopes – With a shortage of psych services in our area, our Telehealth setup will give us access to needed services to better care for our residents.” Khan went on to thank Care Compass Network for their unwavering support for the Telehealth initiative and recognized his staff for their hard work and ability to adapt and embrace the new technology.

Senator James Seward was unable to attend due to his health, but sent a representative in his place to congratulate everyone on this special occasion. Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton was also in attendance for the ribbon cutting ceremony. She fully supports Groton Community Health Care Center, who has been serving the community since the 1980s, and congratulated everyone on reaching this milestone. Assemblywoman Lifton toured the facility and met with the residents, staff, and other guests in attendance.
