May is National Mental Health Awareness month and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is dedicated to promoting mental health wellness and reducing the stigma around mental health. This year’s campaign is titled, WhyCare?, which focuses on the importance of care in relationships with others and in mental health treatment and services.
According to statistics by NAMI, 90% of those who die by suicide have an underlying mental illness. By demonstrating how and why we care, we have the power to make life-changing impacts on those affected by mental health. whether they are a family member, friend, co-worker, neighbor, or a stranger sitting next to you at the bus stop.
